Our story in brief
What began as a single practice in Kuala Lumpur, founded by the late Dato’ Sri V.P. Nathan, has grown into a nationwide firm of seven offices and close to one hundred people. From the very beginning, the firm acted for Malaysia’s insurers — and that early focus on insurance litigation became the foundation of a reputation for depth, rigour and reliability.
Today that same firm advises individuals, families and businesses across the full breadth of the law, while never losing the specialist’s instinct that defined it from the start.

An Advocate & Solicitor of both Malaya and Singapore, Dato’ Sri Punidanathan a/l Velupillai practised from 1966 until his passing in 2023 — devoting more than five decades to the law and earning recognition as a leading authority in insurance litigation. His standards remain the standards of the firm.

Dato' Sri V.P. Nathan founds the firm in Kuala Lumpur and opens a second office in Malacca the same year, acting from the outset for Malaysia's insurers.
The firm extends north, establishing a presence on the island to serve clients across the northern states.
An East Coast office opens, bringing the firm's insurance and litigation expertise to Terengganu.
The Pahang office opens, deepening the firm's coverage of the East Coast.
The firm reaches the southern gateway, opening in Johor Bahru to serve clients in the south.
A seventh office opens in Kelantan, completing a network that spans Peninsular Malaysia.
The passing of Dato' Sri V.P. Nathan after more than five decades in practice. The firm he built continues under his name and his standards.
